Dry Pipe Sprinkler System
Low cost and easy maintenance. The dry pipe system is designed for frost-prone areas, unheated warehouses, loading docks, and exterior spaces where a wet pipe system cannot be used.
How it works
Air or nitrogen instead of water in the pipes
Unlike a wet pipe system, the dry pipe system has its distribution pipework filled with compressed air or nitrogen instead of water. Water is held back by a dry pipe valve and only enters the system when a sprinkler head activates and releases the air pressure.
The Viking dry pipe system is designed to safely resist, even after decades of operation, accidental releases caused by pressure variations. Its unique design eliminates the risk of leaks in the pilot chamber.
The F-1 dry pipe valve body is made of ductile cast iron, characterised by fast and easy maintenance. The cover of the DN80 (3"), DN100 (4") and DN150 (6") valve posts has only 4 bolts, so access to the flap takes very little time. The time-tested locking mechanism ensures reliable reset and eliminates the need for a water seal.
